I provide guidance and support throughout the entire process, beginning with the initial decision to breastfeed or bottle feed, all the way to the baby's weaning. I am well-versed in the latest research and evidence-based practices, and can provide information and resources to assist mothers in making informed decisions. Sibling Preparation
As a doula, I offer sibling preparation to mothers who are expecting a new baby. I understand that a new baby can be a big adjustment for the entire family, especially for the older siblings. I provide tips and advice on how to best prepare the older siblings for the new baby's arrival. I help them understand the changes that will take place and how they can still be involved in the new baby's life. I also provide resources to help the child understand the new dynamic and how to cope with any emotions that may arise. I help create a comfortable and welcoming environment for the older siblings so that they can accept and love their new family member. Additionally, I provide guidance on how parents can ensure that the older siblings still get the attention and love that they deserve. By preparing the older siblings for the new baby, I help to make the transition smoother and more enjoyable for both the parents and the child.
Getting Your Partner Ready
Having an educated birthing partner can help make the birthing process be easier and more enjoyable for you. I want to empower and educate your partner so that they can best support you during this time. I will provide them with information on what to expect during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. They will learn how to help you cope with the physical and emotional challenges of childbirth. I will also show them how to provide comfort and reassurance to you through massage, breathing techniques, and other comfort measures. Furthermore, I will teach them how to advocate for your birth preferences and help you make informed decisions about your care. By the end of the session, your partner will have the knowledge and confidence to be a supportive and involved birthing partner.
